    General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of Army Staff, conducted a thorough review of the security situation in the Kashmir Valley. This evaluation followed the recent Operation Sindoor, launched in response to a tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam last month, which resulted in the loss of 26 lives, primarily tourists. During his visit, General Dwivedi examined the preparations for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra 2025, emphasizing the need for strong security measures to protect pilgrims. He was briefed on current operational dynamics and the wider strategic context. General Dwivedi also observed a demonstration of advanced technologies integrated into military operations to improve decision-making, surveillance, and response capabilities. The Army chief commended the Chinar Corps for their dedication to maintaining peace and stability through counter-terrorism operations and regional development initiatives. He received detailed updates on the current security situation, including information on the number of terrorists operating in the valley, who are reportedly under pressure and hiding in forested areas. General Dwivedi highlighted the use of modern technology in counter-terrorism efforts, including the anti-infiltration grid along the Line of Control. He was informed about the deployment of advanced surveillance devices and continuous patrolling in sensitive areas. Separately, Baramulla police arrested an individual in Pattan and recovered incriminating materials, including posters linked to the banned JK National Front and ammunition. Further investigations are underway.
