In New Delhi, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi recently unveiled the book ‘Operation Sindoor: The Untold Story of India’s Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan,’ authored by Lieutenant General KJS Dhillon. The book details attacks on Pakistan. During the book launch, General Upendra Dwivedi reiterated that Operation Sindoor is ongoing and has not concluded. He stated that the book is not just about a military campaign but also about the courage of the Indian Army and the nation. He mentioned that during Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army moved like a rhythmic wave.
Addressing the event, General Dwivedi said, “You might think that the war ended on May 10th. No, because it went on for a long time, because a lot of decisions had to be made, and beyond that, of course, it would be difficult for me to share anything here.” India initiated Operation Sindoor on the morning of May 7, under which the armed forces destroyed several terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to the deadly attack in Pahalgam on April 22. The Army Chief noted that the Pakistani army retaliated, and the Indian Army launched counterattacks under Operation Sindoor, resulting in a conflict that lasted approximately four days. Military action was halted on the evening of May 10 after an agreement was reached between both sides. General Dwivedi also highlighted that the book includes aspects that “usually remain unheard, unsaid, because people in uniform cannot talk about it.” He expressed his gratitude to Lieutenant General Dhillon (Retd) for completing this “difficult task.”
