Bihar’s political landscape is in flux following the 2025 election results, with the ruling NDA showing a strong lead as vote counting progresses. While the Janata Dal (United) and BJP-led alliance maintains a steady advantage, Tejashwi Yadav’s Mahagathbandhan (MGB) faces an uphill battle. Key constituencies are witnessing intense contests, with prominent figures experiencing mixed fortunes.

In Digha, CPI(ML)-L candidate Divya Gautam, a relative of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, is trailing behind the incumbent BJP MLA Sanjiv Chaurasia. By the seventeenth round, Chaurasia had established a significant lead of over 30,000 votes, making Gautam’s path to victory increasingly challenging.

The Chapra seat presents a difficult debut for Bhojpuri star Khesari Lal Yadav, contesting as RJD’s Satrughan Yadav. He remains behind BJP’s Chhoti Kumari, trailing by more than 3,000 votes after the fourth round. Kumari’s consistent performance suggests a tough challenge for the popular entertainer.

Tejashwi Yadav’s own political future is being closely watched in Raghopur. Early results showed him trailing BJP’s Satish Kumar, causing concern within the MGB camp. However, the race remains tight, highlighting the symbolic importance of this seat.

Osama Shahab, son of the late politician Mohammad Shahabuddin, is making a strong showing in Raghunathpur. He has taken a significant lead of 5,088 votes over JD(U)’s Vikash Kumar Singh, with his numbers becoming a notable talking point.

Tej Pratap Yadav, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son, is facing a challenging election in Mahua. Despite earlier confidence in his party’s performance, his Janashakti Janata Dal candidates are largely trailing, and he himself is struggling to gain momentum in his constituency.

Meanwhile, first-time BJP candidate and singer Maithili Thakur is performing well in Alinagar, holding a comfortable lead of 8,544 votes over RJD’s Binod Mishra by the sixth round. The AIMIM is also making its presence felt, securing early leads in Kochadhaman, Amour, and Baisi.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary is on track to retain his seat in Tarapur, leading by over 4,000 votes. In Kutumba, state Congress President Rajesh Kumar is trailing behind HAM(S) candidate Lallan Ram. The Mokama constituency is witnessing a nail-biting contest, with jailed JD(U) leader Anant Singh holding a narrow lead over RJD’s Veena Devi.
