The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to finalize its candidate list for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections with a crucial meeting scheduled at the residence of its National President, J.P. Nadda. The high-level gathering, commencing at 11 a.m. on Saturday, will see the presence of prominent leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and key members of the Bihar BJP core group. This strategic discussion follows the recent formal announcement of seat-sharing arrangements within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), expected to be unveiled in Patna today. Sources indicate that the primary objective of this meeting is to lock in the BJP’s nominees for the constituencies allocated to the party under the NDA pact. The state’s election committee has already presented its recommended candidate panels to the central leadership, with the first list anticipated around October 13. It is understood that the upcoming candidate release might present a unified NDA front rather than an exclusively BJP selection. Meanwhile, allies are adopting a more amenable stance. Chirag Paswan, leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), has expressed confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, suggesting an agreement is within reach, despite his earlier demand for 40 seats. Similarly, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) President Jitan Ram Manjhi, whose party performed well in 2020, is reportedly negotiating for a larger share of seats. While specific demands might not be entirely met, it is anticipated that both Paswan and Manjhi will accept the final distribution after interventions from senior BJP figures. The Bihar Assembly elections are slated for November 6 and 11, with the results to be declared on November 14, 2025.
