In a resounding show of support for female-led businesses, Bihar Industries Minister Dilip Jaiswal kicked off the fifth Mahila Pankh Haat in Patna today. The event, organized by Bhumihar Mahila Samaj, serves as a marketplace for women artisans to display and sell their crafts, bridging the gap between creators and consumers.

Speaking at the inauguration alongside Minister Ashok Chaudhary and Speaker Prem Kumar, Jaiswal reaffirmed the NDA alliance’s commitment to holistic development of women entrepreneurship. ‘Our government is fully resolved to nurture every aspect of women’s business ventures, from skill-building to market access,’ he declared in a social media post.

Jaiswal elaborated that these fairs play a pivotal role in spotlighting women’s innovation and diligence, while bolstering the state’s economy. In interactions with media, he lauded the initiative for inspiring self-employment among women, offering lessons in empowerment through real-world examples.

Shifting gears, Chaudhary slammed ex-VP Ansari’s statement on historical invaders, arguing it contradicted official textbooks. ‘Students learn from books approved by the government—why the silence then?’ he retorted, accusing Ansari of chasing headlines.

Looking ahead, the budget session details were finalized: starting February 2, ending February 27, with ample time for lawmakers to gear up for key discussions on fiscal plans and state policies.
