The Election Commission of India (ECI) is expressing confidence in meeting the July 25 deadline for Bihar’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. As of July 8, the ECI reported that nearly 47% of Enumeration Forms had been collected, just two weeks after the drive commenced on June 24. Data released by the ECI on Monday evening indicated that 3.70 crore forms out of a targeted 7.90 crore electors had been collected. The election authority is optimistic about the timely completion, with the collection phase potentially concluding before the set deadline. To facilitate this, 20,603 additional Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been deployed, bringing the total to 77,895. Furthermore, nearly 4 lakh volunteers are assisting with form completion and submission. The electoral process involves a fully mobilized team, with electoral officers, Assistant Officers, District Officers, and the Chief Electoral Officer overseeing the efforts.
