Following recent events in Nepal, including a ‘Gen Z’ movement and jailbreak incidents, the Bihar government has taken immediate steps to reinforce security arrangements in the border districts. A high-level meeting was held on September 10, 2025, chaired by Bihar’s Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit. All Superintendents of Police (SPs) and District Magistrates (DMs) of districts bordering Nepal participated via video conferencing (VC).

The primary objective of the meeting was to effectively address the potential challenges arising from the recent events in Nepal. The Chief Secretary issued several important directives to all District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police. He specifically instructed strict monitoring of all individuals entering Bihar from across the border. A strict order was issued to not allow any person to enter the border without thorough investigation.

He also emphasized the need for heightened surveillance of prominent institutions and critical infrastructure within the state, such as bridges, railway stations, and power plants, to prevent any untoward incidents. During the meeting, Pratyay Amrit assured the officials that in case of any emergency or need for additional assistance, they could directly contact him or the Director General of Police (DGP). This directive will assist the officials in making immediate decisions and avoiding delays in any situation.

Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar and Additional Director General (ADG) Kundan Krishnan were also present at this important meeting. In addition, senior officials from the Home Department, all divisional commissioners, and District Magistrates, Inspector Generals of Police (IGs), and Superintendents of Police of all districts were connected to this meeting via video conferencing.
