A suspected case of honor killing has emerged in Patna, Bihar, where the mangled bodies of a young man and a teenage girl were discovered on a railway track. The bodies were found near Chandan Nagar, between Pothahi and Nima on the Patna-Gaya rail section. The incident has caused a stir, with villagers alerting the police. Authorities, including the Punpun Kewda OP police and SDPO-2, arrived at the scene upon receiving the information.

The deceased were identified as Subodh Kumar alias Loha Yadav, a resident of Sigrampur (Dhanrua), and a teenage girl from a nearby village. Investigations revealed that a case of kidnapping involving the girl had been registered six days prior to the discovery of the bodies, with the deceased man and two of his friends named in the case. A photograph of Subodh and the girl’s wedding had gone viral, enraging the girl’s family. Police suspect that the viral photo triggered the alleged murder plot. Two youths from Sigrampur, reportedly associates of Subodh, are currently missing, which further complicates the investigation.

The police have noted multiple injury marks on the bodies. The presence of these injuries is unusual for deaths caused by train accidents, suggesting the possibility of a brutal assault followed by the dumping of the bodies on the railway track. The exact cause of death will be determined after the post-mortem report is released. The deceased man had a criminal history, with over half a dozen cases registered against him, including charges of robbery, the Arms Act, and theft. He had also previously been incarcerated and was recently absconding in connection with the Dhanrua firing and Karaypashuray robbery cases.
