Despite continuous rainfall in Delhi-NCR for the past two days, residents have not found relief from the oppressive humidity. According to the meteorological department, rain is expected throughout the NCR, including Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad. The showers, accompanied by thunderstorms, are likely to persist until August 21st. Heavy rainfall is also anticipated in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttarakhand. The incessant downpour has amplified the risk of landslides in the mountainous regions. Mumbai has also been experiencing heavy rainfall since late Friday night, causing disruptions to daily life.

The IMD has issued an Orange Alert for heavy rainfall in Bageshwar, Nainital, and Dehradun in Uttarakhand. Very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is predicted in these areas on Sunday. Furthermore, heavy rainfall is also expected in Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, and Champawat. Other districts in the state may also experience heavy rainfall with thunderstorms. The weather department has advised people to remain vigilant and exercise caution. A slight decrease in rainfall in Uttarakhand offers a glimmer of hope for the residents.

In Uttar Pradesh, heavy rainfall has been ongoing for several days. The meteorological department anticipates heavy rainfall in several districts of western UP from August 16th to 22nd, including Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Agra, Moradabad, and Bareilly. Eastern UP is also expected to receive heavy rainfall, with districts like Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Jaunpur, Deoria, Azamgarh, Ghazipur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Kushinagar, Ballia, and Mau likely to experience heavy rainfall on August 21st-22nd.

This monsoon season has wreaked havoc in Uttarakhand. Heavy rainfall and landslides have claimed the lives of hundreds of people. Cloudbursts have resulted in numerous fatalities, and the continuous rain has forced many to evacuate their homes. Heavy rainfall is predicted for the state on August 16th and 17th.

Cloudy conditions prevail in various parts of Bihar. Heavy rainfall has caused flood-like situations in the low-lying areas. The weather department expects no significant changes in the weather for the next four days, but heavy rainfall is anticipated from August 20th to 22nd.

The IMD forecasts heavy rainfall in Meghalaya, Assam, Tripura, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Manipur for the next seven days. Very heavy rainfall is also expected in Arunachal Pradesh from August 19th to 21st.
