Tensions are escalating within Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family in Bihar. Following the actions of his elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, Rohini Acharya appears to be in a state of rebellion. After a video of Sanjay Yadav, a close aide of Tejashwi Yadav, went viral, Rohini targeted him. She has not only made her X (formerly Twitter) account private but also unfollowed some close family members. Rohini follows 61 people on X, with only her sister Misa Bharti, a member of the family from the Patliputra parliamentary constituency, among them. Rohini does not follow any other members of the RJD or her family, leading to speculation that this is a sign of Rohini Acharya’s opposition to Tejashwi Yadav. The unfollowing appears to be a result of growing disagreements between Rohini Acharya and her sister concerning Sanjay Yadav, a close associate of Tejashwi Yadav. Rohini Acharya expressed her displeasure by sharing two posts on the X media platform. In her first post, she shared a picture of her father, Lalu, with the caption, “Those who risk their lives, fearlessness is in their blood.” She described herself as a responsible daughter and sister. These posts, which were public until 8 a.m. on Saturday, suddenly disappeared when Rohini made her X account private. This development points to internal strife within the party and family, causing a stir in political circles. Lalu’s elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav, has also unfollowed several members of the family and the RJD, sparking reports of internal discord within the party. Lalu Prasad Yadav had earlier removed Tej Pratap from the party for six years and separated him from the family. Tejashwi Yadav, Misa Bharti, and Rohini Acharya supported Lalu’s decision. Tej Pratap Yadav stated that, as a woman, she has done commendable work that perhaps no daughter or mother could do. It is admirable for us and all women. Her contributions will always be discussed. The Sudarshan Chakra of Krishna will strike those who insult our sisters. This move by Rohini Acharya is likely to cause further turmoil in the Lalu family and the RJD. It remains to be seen what happens next and what Rohini Acharya’s next step will be.
