North India is experiencing a severe heatwave, with temperatures soaring in several states, including Delhi. The monsoon’s progress has slowed. Many parts of the country are seeing temperatures exceeding 45 degrees Celsius. In the capital, Delhi, the heat has overwhelmed cooling systems. Uttar Pradesh is also facing elevated temperatures.

Today, Delhi’s maximum temperature may reach 43 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius. Strong winds and heat waves are likely during the day. The weather is expected to change this evening, with thunderstorms and light rain late at night. Rainfall is anticipated in Delhi from June 13th to 16th, which will provide significant relief from the heat.

In Uttar Pradesh, there’s a mixed weather forecast. Some areas may see light showers, while others, particularly Western UP and Bundelkhand, could experience heat waves for the next couple of days. The monsoon is expected to arrive in UP by June 15th, potentially bringing relief.

Bihar and Jharkhand are also facing varied weather conditions. While some areas in Bihar experienced heavy rainfall with thunderstorms, South Bihar is still experiencing intense heat. Jharkhand is likely to see thunderstorms, strong winds, and lightning throughout the day.

Rajasthan is under a severe heatwave, but a change in weather is expected. Rain is forecasted for 4 districts on June 14th. An orange alert has been issued for heat waves in several districts of Madhya Pradesh, along with a yellow alert for rainfall in others.

Heavy rainfall is expected in central Karnataka. Coastal and interior Karnataka may also see moderate to heavy rainfall. Eastern and northern Tamil Nadu are under a very heavy rainfall warning. Andhra Pradesh and Yanam could experience heavy rainfall. Maharashtra is likely to experience torrential rain in several parts of the state over the next 4-5 days.
