Road improvements in Araria, Bihar, have led to increased vehicle speeds, but also a rise in accidents. In just five days, seven people have died in road accidents in the district. Violations of traffic rules are particularly prevalent among vehicles using the National Highway. The disregard for these rules has resulted in a series of accidents.
In a recent incident on Saturday evening near the Simraha overbridge on the Araria-Farbisganj National Highway, three youths lost their lives. Prior to this, on Thursday, a 30-year-old man was fatally struck by an unidentified truck. The victim was a resident of Khajurbari village in Harira Panchayat.
Accidents continue to occur. On the same Thursday, a 75-year-old man was killed when an unknown vehicle hit him on the Simraha-Saifganj road in the Farbisganj block. On June 9th, an accident occurred in the Mahlagaon police station area of the district. Two youths died after their vehicle skidded on maize drying on the road, while three others were injured.
The accident on Saturday evening on the Araria-Farbisganj National Highway near the Simraha overbridge claimed the lives of a biryani shop owner and two of his staff members. The families of the victims are devastated. Accidents are frequent on National Highways 327E and 77, which pass through the Rani Jung area, resulting in loss of life.
