At a solemn commemoration of Karpoori Thakur’s jayanti in Patna’s RJD headquarters on January 24, Tejashwi Yadav unleashed a torrent of criticism against Bihar’s NDA regime. The young leader positioned himself as the torchbearer of social justice, relentlessly targeting BJP’s leadership choices and governance failures.

‘Democracy has been hijacked—lok hara, tantra jeeta,’ Yadav told the media throng. Even with the entire system rigged in their favor, he said, the people delivered a 60% verdict against the government, with RJD securing 1.9 crore votes as proof of unwavering support.

Echoing the unyielding spirits of Thakur and Lalu Prasad, Yadav proclaimed, ‘They’ve made governance a cash cow, but we won’t yield. Only those who fight triumph.’

Bihar’s triple curse—poverty, joblessness, exodus—persists because the same anti-Thakur clique rules, Yadav argued. ‘They heed only a select few, dream of constitutional overhaul, and erode democratic norms,’ he warned.

Lawlessness reigns supreme, he thundered, from rampant crimes to women’s plight and the eerie silence on Shambhu Hostel atrocities. Dismissing a BJP elite’s absurd remark linking his absence to fewer crimes, Yadav shot back, ‘Daily rapes and killings mock such nonsense. Even in defeat, the talk is my loss, not their win.’

In a sharp pivot, he hailed Nitin Nabin’s elevation to BJP president but probed, ‘His father’s legacy? Pure nepotism!’ Questioning PM’s inaction on girl child rapes, Yadav asked, ‘Where is the Prime Minister?’

Vowing restraint for 100 days amid internal and external saboteurs, Yadav outlined future plans: touring Bihar post-session to forge a robust cadre. ‘We’re strong, not weak. The grand alliance will battle on, echoing public grievances everywhere,’ he affirmed.
