    A 25-year-old woman was reportedly abducted and gang-raped by three individuals in a village within the Karanjia police jurisdiction of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Tuesday evening. This marks the fifth instance of sexual assault reported in the state within a ten-day period and the second in this particular district. According to police reports, the woman was returning to her maternal uncle’s home when the incident occurred. She was offered a ride by two individuals on a motorcycle, who then took her to a secluded location where a third individual was present. The suspects allegedly assaulted the woman and then threatened her to remain silent about the crime before fleeing the scene. The main suspect, Bikash Patra, 28, has been apprehended, and Lokanath Mohanta, 30, was also arrested. Authorities are actively searching for the remaining suspect.
