A tragic incident occurred in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, where a patient died after falling from the third floor of the RDJM Hospital in the Turki police station area. The deceased has been identified as Harendra Ram, a resident of Bariyarpur, Sakra block. The incident has raised serious questions about the hospital management’s negligence.

According to reports, Harendra Ram was admitted to the RDJM Hospital for several days and was undergoing treatment in the mental health ward. On Sunday morning, he went out of his room to use the restroom. When he did not return for a long time, his family members and the staff started searching for him. They initially searched within the hospital premises, but when they couldn’t find him, they looked down from the third floor and saw a person lying on a pile of garbage. Upon closer inspection, they confirmed that it was Harendra Ram.

The most shocking thing was that the hospital management received the information about the patient’s fall and death late. The body remained on the garbage heap behind the hospital for quite some time. During this period, family members and others were shouting, after which the hospital administration took action. Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took possession of the body, sending it to SKMCH for postmortem.

The family of the deceased claims that there was insufficient monitoring in the hospital. Since the patient was admitted to the mental ward, he should have received special care. The family alleges that the accident happened due to negligence. Following the incident, the family was in a state of shock and grief.

Turki Police Station Officer Rahul Kumar said that the police are investigating the matter. The family of the deceased has not yet filed any written complaint or application. Further action will be taken after receiving the application.

The family believes that this incident questions the hospital administration’s functioning. Continuous monitoring is considered necessary for patients admitted to the mental ward so that they do not harm themselves or others. However, a severe lack of security and monitoring was evident in this case. Local people and family members have demanded a high-level investigation into the matter from the administration. Currently, the police are investigating the case.
