PM Modi Initiates Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana in Bihar, Distributes Financial Aid

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana through video conferencing on Friday. This initiative saw the direct transfer of an initial installment of Rs 10,000 each into the bank accounts of 75 lakh women beneficiaries. The program aims to promote self-employment and enhance livelihoods across the state. The total financial disbursement amounted to Rs 7,500 crore. The Prime Minister highlighted the program’s significance, noting the opportunity to participate in the well-being of Bihar’s women. He confirmed that 75 lakh women have already enrolled in the scheme. The Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, a Bihar government initiative, is designed to empower women by fostering economic independence and social upliftment through self-employment and livelihood prospects. Each beneficiary is slated to receive an initial grant of Rs. 10,000 via Direct Benefit Transfer, with the potential for further financial assistance up to Rs. 2 lakh. This financial aid can be utilized in various sectors, including agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts, tailoring, weaving, and other small-scale enterprises. The scheme will be community-driven, with support from Self Help Groups providing training to support endeavors. Gramin Haat-Bazaars will be developed to facilitate the sale of produce. The launch of the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana is set to be a statewide event across multiple administrative levels, with over 1 crore women expected to participate.
