Political discourse in Bihar is heating up ahead of the assembly elections, with leaders trading barbs. Prashant Kishor, the leader of the Jan Suraaj Party, launched a scathing attack on RJD leader Lalu Yadav, likening his comments on rising crime and deteriorating law and order to a lion suddenly embracing vegetarianism.

Kishor, currently on a Bihar Badlav Yatra (Bihar Change Journey), made these remarks in Saran on June 10th. He specifically targeted both Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and former CM Lalu Yadav.

“If Lalu Yadav is talking about crime, it’s like a lion in the jungle talking about being a vegetarian,” Kishor stated, highlighting what he perceives as the incongruity of Yadav, given his political history, addressing the issue of crime. He was responding to a post by Lalu Yadav on X, where the RJD leader criticized the Nitish Kumar government on the state of law and order. In his post, Yadav questioned the government’s handling of crime, specifically mentioning the number of murders occurring. Kishor also criticized Nitish Kumar during the same event, claiming that the people of Bihar want to see the current CM removed from power.
