RJD leader Sudhakar Singh participated in the TV9 Digital Bihar meeting, where he discussed the party’s strategy for the upcoming Bihar elections. Singh stated that there is a crisis of internal democracy in all political parties. He mentioned that Bihar is always in election mode, and the discussions around the Bihar elections are prevalent across the country. Reflecting on the 2020 elections, he noted that the party fell short by a few seats and votes. He also addressed the issue of Voter List Revision (SIR), alleging that the Election Commission has devised a new strategy. Singh expressed concern over the lack of clarity regarding voter inclusion and exclusion, and questioned the impartiality of the Election Commission. He highlighted that elections are often won or lost by a narrow margin, and claimed that the BJP is constantly conducting surveys to determine how much vote share they need to manage to win elections. Singh also pointed out that the Election Commission aimed to remove 20% of voters from the Bihar voter list, but currently, the figure stands at 8%. Regarding the use of Aadhaar cards in voter list revision, he questioned why it cannot be used, stating that the Election Commission doesn’t have a valid answer. He also added that there are 13 crore people in Bihar with Aadhaar cards, while only 8 crore are on the voter list and that Aadhaar cards are created from birth, whereas voter cards are created after the age of 18. He mentioned that Aadhaar cards can’t be made at three locations, and that Aadhaar cards can be used to remove duplicate voters from the voter list.
