Vande Bharat Sleeper Train: A Comfortable Journey to Bihar for Diwali and Chhath

The Indian Railways is preparing to launch the first Vande Bharat Sleeper Express train. This new train is expected to begin service from Delhi to Patna by the end of September, making it available to passengers before Diwali. According to railway sources, the train may later be extended to Darbhanga or Sitamarhi, benefiting passengers in North Bihar. The train will offer a significant advantage to travelers heading to Bihar for Diwali and Chhath. It is designed to be comfortable and reduce travel time. The train will run at a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour. A notable feature is the presence of driver cabs at both ends, eliminating the need to change engines at terminal stations, thus saving time. The train is equipped with advanced safety features like the Kavach anti-collision system, crashworthy coach design, and European-standard fire safety technology. Each coach will have CCTV cameras for continuous passenger safety monitoring. The interior features attractive designs, soft lighting, and comfortable berths. New designs for upper berths will make it easier to climb and descend. Automatic sensor doors will be installed at entry gates and between compartments, and touch-free bio-digester toilets will be provided for cleanliness. The Ministry of Railways views the Vande Bharat Sleeper trains as a crucial part of India’s railway modernization. These trains will make long-distance travel faster, safer, and more comfortable, especially during the festive season when the number of passengers traveling to Bihar increases significantly.
