    The India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced on Sunday that the southwest monsoon is likely to reach several North Indian states within the next two days. According to the IMD, the monsoon is expected to arrive in Delhi, Chandigarh, and parts of Haryana within the next two days. The forecast also includes the possibility of the monsoon reaching Western Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Jammu and Kashmir. The weather department also stated that the monsoon could arrive in these states by June 24th. Conditions are favorable for the advancement of the southwest monsoon.

    According to the weather department, the southwest monsoon is advancing in most parts of Himachal Pradesh, the entire Ladakh and Kashmir, most parts of Jammu, and some parts of Punjab. In the coming days, Delhi is expected to receive light to moderate rainfall, offering relief to residents. The maximum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 36.2 degrees Celsius, which is 1.3 degrees below average. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for rain in Delhi.

    The weather department has issued a yellow alert for Monday in Delhi, predicting light to moderate rain and thundershowers. It also mentioned strong winds with speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. The IMD further stated that the southwest monsoon could advance in parts of Rajasthan and Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and some parts of Delhi, and western Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and the remaining parts of Jammu within the next two days. The monsoon is expected to arrive in these places within two days.

    The weather department predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas of sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, western Uttar Pradesh, and eastern Rajasthan. In addition, heavy rainfall is expected in Assam and Meghalaya, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Heavy rain is also expected in Uttarakhand, eastern Uttar Pradesh, western Rajasthan, and western Madhya Pradesh. Heavy rainfall has been recorded in isolated places in Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam.
