In a shocking turn of events, Gopal Khemka, a prominent businessman and leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was fatally shot outside his Patna residence. The incident occurred late last night near the Gandhi Maidan South area, sending shockwaves through Bihar. Tragically, this comes six years after his son, Gunjan Khemka, was also murdered. Khemka, declared dead at the scene after sustaining a gunshot wound, was a well-known figure in the region.

Police have secured the crime scene, collecting a bullet and shell casing as evidence. Khemka, a resident of the Twin Tower society, was targeted by an unidentified assailant while returning home. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrator. The motive behind the murder remains under investigation.

Khemka was the owner of Magadh Hospital and reportedly involved with numerous social organizations. Pappu Yadav, an independent MP from Purnea, has strongly criticized the Nitish Kumar-led government following Khemka’s death, highlighting the growing crime rate in Bihar. Yadav, who visited the scene, expressed his dismay on social media, pointing out the earlier murder of Khemka’s son and the lack of justice.
