In a pointed rebuttal from New Delhi, BJP heavyweight RP Singh took aim at Mamata Banerjee’s provocative statements following the fatal plane crash of Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar. Banerjee’s narrative wove in political intrigue, claiming Pawar was on the verge of rejoining his former allies when fate intervened, raising alarms about safety in India.

‘Deeply shocked by Ajit Pawar’s demise in today’s crash. Even politicians aren’t secure in this nation,’ Banerjee remarked, alluding to intelligence about Pawar’s impending switch from BJP circles. This drew immediate backlash from Singh, who accused her of habitual politicization. ‘Everything is politics to her—conspiracies lurk in every shadow. Time for a name change to Mamata Plotter,’ he retorted sharply.

Singh highlighted Sharad Pawar’s acceptance of it as an unfortunate mishap, calling for an end to speculation. He lumped Pappu Yadav’s ‘coincidence or conspiracy’ rhetoric with tactics of irrelevant politicians craving headlines. Shifting focus to West Bengal, Singh alleged Banerjee was fueling SIR-related protests to consolidate minority support, deploying community outfits as proxies.

Defending the non-Hindu entry ban at sacred Uttarakhand sites like Kedarnath-Badrinath, Singh stressed it’s about preserving temple traditions, leaving decisions to managing committees. In a broader swipe at Congress, he noted tensions around Shashi Tharoor, whose pro-India stance irks party leadership, particularly Rahul Gandhi, signaling deeper factional strife.
