Following the launch of Operation Sindoor by India against Pakistan after an attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, a 19-year-old student from Pune posted content critical of the operation on May 7th. The post was later deleted, and an apology was issued. The student subsequently filed a petition to have the case dismissed. The Bombay High Court has offered a verbal observation on the matter. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for two weeks from now.

The court stated that the case against the 19-year-old student cannot be closed solely because she deleted her social media post and apologized. The bench, comprising Chief Justice Chandrasekhar and Justice Gautam Ankhad, stated that the FIR cannot be quashed simply because the accused is a bright student who has achieved good marks in examinations.
