Imagine waking up to the aroma of fresh parathas in a quaint village home or sipping chai on a veranda overlooking mustard fields—that’s the promise of Uttar Pradesh’s latest tourism drive. The UP Tourism Department has announced an extensive awareness campaign to promote homestays and bed-and-breakfast establishments, targeting entrepreneurs eager to join the hospitality revolution.

Slated for a statewide rollout, the initiative will feature roadshows, webinars, and community events to demystify the setup process. From legal requirements to guest safety protocols, every aspect will be covered in simple, actionable terms. The goal? To create a network of 1,000+ homestays within the next two years, injecting vitality into rural economies.

Financial perks like subsidies on renovations, low-interest loans, and zero-cost marketing listings await participants. UP Tourism will also certify operators, ensuring high standards that appeal to discerning travelers. ‘Homestays are not just businesses; they are bridges to our cultural roots,’ remarked the tourism minister during the announcement.

This comes at a pivotal time, as domestic tourism surges with millennials prioritizing unique experiences over star-rated chains. The campaign leverages UP’s diverse offerings—spiritual sojourns in Ayodhya, wildlife in Dudhwa, and history in Lucknow—to position homestays as must-try options.

Stakeholders predict a multiplier effect: increased footfall means more demand for local crafts, cuisine, and guides. With dedicated apps for bookings and real-time feedback, the ecosystem is poised for growth. Uttar Pradesh is betting big on this model to emerge as India’s homestay capital.
