Union Home Minister Amit Shah descended upon Haridwar on Thursday for the grand ‘Shatabdi Varsh Samaroh 2026′ by Akhil Vishwa Gayatri Parivar, honoring Mata Bhagyanti Devi Sharma’s 100th birth anniversary and the Akhand Deep’s centenary. His ceremonial lamp-lighting marked the start of proceedings steeped in reverence and reform.

In his address, Shah reminisced about Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya’s role in linking lakhs to Gayatri practices. He called on the community to surge ahead under new leadership for another century of impact. The Sharmas’ movement boasts 150 million adherents, with 1926 echoing as a year of national awakening alongside RSS’s inception.

Deeply connected to Sanatan roots, Shah asserted India’s traditions hold keys to world issues. On Haridwar’s sacred soil—Kumbh’s hub and Saptarishis’ tapasya sthal—saints have illuminated souls en masse. This convergence of faith, spirituality, and culture was revitalized through personal upliftment by Acharya ji.

Experiencing profound energy at the event, Shah felt Uttarakhand’s ancient tapasya vibes. The Sharmas’ Gayatri revival shattered orthodoxies, notably empowering women with mantra rights—a taboo unchallenged until then. This inclusive path transcends divisions, fostering soul-level welfare.

The day extended to modern milestones as Shah, joined by Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, Yoga Guru Ramdev, and Acharya Balkrishna, unveiled Patanjali Yogpeeth’s state-of-the-art emergency hospital, symbolizing holistic progress.
