Tragedy struck Chandigarh’s Sector 46 when a speeding black Thar SUV hit two sisters, resulting in one fatality and serious injuries for the other. The sisters, residents of Burail, were waiting for an auto after returning from college when the vehicle, approaching from behind, struck them with brutal force before fleeing the scene. Passersby immediately transported the victims to a hospital, where one sister, identified as Sojeff, was tragically declared dead upon arrival. Her sister, Isha, sustained severe injuries and is currently receiving medical attention at Sector 32 Hospital. The Thar SUV involved is registered in Chandigarh, with initial police inquiries pointing to an address in Sector 21. However, authorities have confirmed the registered owner no longer resides there, complicating the investigation. Police are actively reviewing CCTV footage to identify the driver responsible for this devastating hit-and-run incident. The city continues to grapple with road safety concerns following this unforgivable act.
