Chhattisgarh’s railway infrastructure is poised for unprecedented growth with ₹7,470 crore earmarked in the latest Union Budget. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai hailed the announcement, extending heartfelt thanks to PM Narendra Modi and Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

This allocation dwarfs the previous regime’s average of ₹311 crore per year from 2009-14, representing a remarkable 24 times surge. With ₹51,080 crore in ongoing rail works, the state is witnessing doubling of tracks, station modernizations, and enhanced safety measures that promise safer travels for millions.

Spotlight falls on the ambitious Raoghat-Jagdalpur line, a lifeline for Bastar’s tribal heartland. ‘This project is a priceless boon from the Centre, paving the way for holistic development in our forested regions,’ affirmed the CM.

New corridors like Parmalkasa-Kharsia and dedicated freight lines have received the green light, setting the stage for passenger services to double soon. These upgrades will streamline goods movement and passenger mobility alike.

The Amrit scheme is revamping 32 stations, with key completions at Dongargarh, Ambikapur, Bhanupratappur, Bhilai, and Urkura. High-speed Vande Bharat (two pairs) and Amrit Bharat (one pair) trains are already operational, symbolizing modern India’s rail revolution in Chhattisgarh.

In his tribute, CM Sai noted that these strides are catalysts for broader prosperity, energizing commerce, job creation, tourism, and the daily lives of ordinary citizens. The double-engine synergy is clearly delivering tangible results.
