Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Chhattisgarh for two days, on June 22nd and 23rd. During his visit, he will inspect ongoing central development projects, inaugurate key institutions, and assess the state’s security situation while holding high-level meetings concerning anti-Naxal operations. This visit is considered significant for Chhattisgarh’s political and security landscape, especially as efforts intensify to eradicate Naxal activities. Shah will inaugurate the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) and Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) campuses in Raipur, aiming to boost scientific investigation capabilities in criminal cases. He will also chair a high-level meeting with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, senior administrative officials, police, and central security agencies to review internal security and discuss the progress of operations in Naxal-affected areas. On the second day, Shah will visit the Naxal-affected Narayanpur district to interact with security forces and understand their challenges. He will also meet with local villagers to review the ground situation of development works. This visit is occurring as the central government works on its final strategy to eliminate Naxalism, and comes after a decrease in Naxal incidents in states like Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Odisha over the past year.
