Chhattisgarh is set to receive a significant boost in agricultural exports with the opening of an APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority) regional office in Raipur. This initiative, driven by the efforts of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and the Department of Industry, has been approved by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

This new office will provide a range of benefits to Chhattisgarh’s farmers, producers, and exporters, offering training, certification, packaging, standardization, and export-related services all in one place. This eliminates the need to seek assistance from offices in other states.

The establishment of the APEDA office will facilitate access to phyto-sanitary certificates, quality certifications, lab testing, and export procedures within the state. This will save time and reduce costs for farmers and exporters.

The APEDA office will also help brand Chhattisgarh’s agricultural products, facilitating direct exports of fruits, vegetables, rice, GI-tagged products, millets, and other agricultural goods to international markets. This will ensure fair prices for products, open up new markets for traders, and enhance the state’s global recognition.

Farmers can expect better returns for their produce and increased income through exports. Moreover, they will gain access to information and training on new technologies, quality control, modern packaging, and international marketing locally.

Farmers, startups, and MSMEs in Chhattisgarh will now be able to easily access export promotion, skill development, and subsidy schemes run by APEDA. Chief Minister Sai has expressed his delight at this historic step, stating that it provides a strong platform to connect Chhattisgarh’s farmers and producers to the global market.

This office will not only promote agricultural exports but also be a decisive step towards the state’s economic prosperity, making Chhattisgarh a leading state in the ‘Vocal for Local to Global’ initiative and opening up new opportunities for exporting rich agricultural products.
