    A shocking incident has occurred in Kondagaon district of Chhattisgarh. A Border Security Force (CAF) jawan allegedly took his own life by shooting himself with his service rifle in the Bayaanar area, a Naxal-affected region of the district.

    The deceased jawan has been identified as Dinesh Singh Chandel. He was a resident of Durg and served as a platoon commander at the CAF camp in Bayaanar. Chandel reportedly shot himself with his service rifle, succumbing to the gunshot wound immediately.

    The sound of the gunshot triggered chaos within the camp. When personnel rushed to the scene, they found Platoon Commander Dinesh Singh Chandel’s body lying in a pool of blood. Police and senior officials were promptly informed.

    Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. The body has been taken into custody and sent for a post-mortem examination. The reason behind the jawan’s suicide is currently unknown, and no suicide note has been recovered. The police are conducting inquiries, and the incident has sent shockwaves through the camp.
