Raipur. Unity Mall is being established by the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai to encourage ODOP (One District One Product) model in the state and promote the sale of local products.

Display and sale of products in the mall will encourage handicraftsmen and benefit small entrepreneurs, craftsmen and weavers of the state. It will act as a “one stop market place” for promotion and sale of local products.

Chief Minister Sai said that Unity Mall is a revolutionary step for the development of the poor, youth, farmers and women power of the state. Apart from taking the state’s economy to new heights, it will also promote employment generation at the local level. It will also encourage Make in India and national unity. Chief Minister Sai said that the Chhattisgarh government considers important issues like national integration and Make in India along with the development of the people of the state as its priority. Important local products of all other states will also be displayed and sold in the Unity Mall to be established in the state. This will strengthen national unity and increase economic and cultural exchange between different states.

Chief Minister Sai said that on the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, this reform of Chhattisgarh Government has been initiated by the Central Government in the direction of encouraging handicraftsmen, weavers, self-help groups and local people and creating a healthy ecosystem for creating new employment at the local level. Full cooperation is being given. The Central Government has sanctioned Rs 200 crore for setting up Unity Mall in the state, out of which Rs 100 crore has been provided as advance to the state under Capex (capital expenditure).

There is a plan to deliver the special products of each district to the global market through Unity Mall. The responsibility of establishing Unity Mall has been entrusted to Raipur Development Authority. Unity Mall will not only increase the income of local artisans of the state, but will also strengthen the cultural identity of Chhattisgarh.
