    In New Delhi, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah met with officials who played a crucial role in recent anti-Naxal operations, congratulating them on the historic success of these missions. He emphasized the Modi government’s commitment to freeing India from the scourge of Naxalism. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma were also present.

    Shah, in a post on X, mentioned that he is eager to meet the soldiers who successfully executed these operations and will soon visit Chhattisgarh for this purpose. The government’s resolve to eradicate Naxalism remains firm.

    Notably, anti-Maoist operations are being conducted in Chhattisgarh under the direction of the Union Home and Cooperation Minister. An operation conducted by the Chhattisgarh Police, including the District Reserve Guard (DRG) forces from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur, took place from May 18, 2025, to May 21, 2025, in the inner regions of Abujhmad. During an encounter on May 21, 2025, in the forests of village Boter, 27 Naxals, including Basavaraju alias Gaganna, the General Secretary and Politburo member of the CPI (Maoist), were killed, and a large amount of weapons and ammunition were recovered.

    Chhattisgarh’s Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General of Police (Anti-Naxal Operations/SIB/STF) Vivekanand, Inspector General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundarraj, Superintendent of Police of Narayanpur Prabhat Kumar, Superintendent of Police of Bijapur Jitendra Yadav, and Superintendent of Police of Naxal-free district Bastar Shalabh Singh were honored by Amit Shah. Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka, and several other senior officials were also present.
