The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department of Chhattisgarh has issued instructions to provide kerosene under the Public Distribution System (PDS) to ration card holders with gas connections in non-scheduled areas of the state. Chhattisgarh has been allocated 1332 kiloliters of kerosene for the month of August. This will be distributed to beneficiaries through fair price shops. A letter to this effect has been issued by the Food Department, located in the Indravati Bhawan, to all collectors of the state and the state-level coordinator of Oil Industry, Raipur. The letter states that all existing Antyodaya and priority ration cards under the public distribution system will be eligible. Ration card holders in urban areas will receive one liter, and ration card holders in rural areas, including scheduled and non-scheduled areas, will receive a maximum of two liters of kerosene. The allocated kerosene for August 2025 must be lifted by August 31. The district-wise kerosene allocation for the state for the month of August is as follows: 48 kiloliters each for Bastar, Kanker, Janjgir-Champa, Durg, Korba, Raigarh, Bemetara, Kawardha and Sarangarh-Bilaigarh; 36 kiloliters each for Dhamtari, Kondagaon, Mungeli, Balod, Rajnandgaon, Gariaband, Balrampur, Surajpur and Shakti districts; and 72 kiloliters each for Bilaspur, Raipur, Surguja, and Jashpur. Similarly, 60 kiloliters each for Balodabazar-Bhatapara, Mahasamund and 24 kiloliters each for Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Korea, Sukma, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi.
