Chhattisgarh’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has apprehended two minor boys in Raipur, suspected of having connections with an ISIS module operating from Pakistan. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, who also oversees the home department, disclosed that the youths were allegedly guided by Pakistani-based ISIS operatives and actively used social media with fake accounts. Sharma stated that the minors were influenced by extremist content online and were attempting to radicalize others via Instagram. “They had access to considerable information and were extensively using the internet and social media under the ISIS name,” he explained. This marks the first such instance in Chhattisgarh, and authorities are intensifying efforts to identify any other individuals involved. The minors have been booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Sharma emphasized the need to expand the ATS presence in Raipur and other major cities to detect and address such threats, also urging citizens to report any social media spreading anti-national content.
