Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai returned to Raipur on Saturday after a visit to Delhi, where he met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speculation about a cabinet expansion intensified with his visit. However, upon his return, CM Sai addressed these rumors, stating that the cabinet expansion would occur “in due course.”

Speaking to the media at the airport after his return from Delhi, CM Sai mentioned that he discussed the state’s situation with PM Modi. He highlighted the opportunity to share the changing landscape of Chhattisgarh, considering it a privilege. Discussions also took place regarding the Bodhghat project and river interlinking initiatives. He noted that the Bodhghat project would generate 125 megawatts of electricity. These projects aim to facilitate irrigation across several hectares of land.

CM Sai further informed that he updated PM Modi on the efforts of the state’s security forces in combating Naxalism. PM Modi congratulated the state on its fight against Naxalism, and CM Sai also extended congratulations on Operation Sindoor. The Chief Minister did not disclose details of the discussions with PM Modi on cabinet expansion, stating that it would happen when the time is right.

It is worth noting that Member of Parliament Brijmohan Agrawal had resigned from the position of Cabinet Minister and MLA during the Lok Sabha elections. Following MP Agrawal’s resignation, two ministerial positions remain vacant in the Sai cabinet. Brijmohan Agrawal was previously responsible for the education department in the Sai cabinet; however, CM Sai himself is currently managing this department after his resignation.
