A shocking case has come to light in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, where a father was found guilty of sexually abusing his own daughters. After a year and a half of legal proceedings, the accused father has been sentenced to rigorous imprisonment and fined under the POCSO Act.

The mother of the children had initially filed a complaint against the father, alleging that he had been sexually harassing his 12 and 14-year-old daughters. The accused also threatened to kill them. The father’s own mother, the girls’ grandmother, bravely came forward and reported the heinous acts to the police. Following the complaint, the police registered a case against the accused under the POCSO Act and relevant sections of the IPC.

The Fast Track Court (FTC) Special Judge, Sangeeta Naveen, delivered the verdict after a year and a half of hearings, sentencing the father to rigorous imprisonment and imposing a fine. The court held that all the charges against the father were proven, and the crime was deemed extremely detrimental to both society and the family.
