The rationalization process in Chhattisgarh has yielded positive outcomes in strengthening and balancing the state’s education system. Before rationalization, a total of 453 schools in the state were without teachers. After rationalization, not a single school is without a teacher.

Similarly, after rationalization, teachers have been posted in 4728 schools out of 5936 single-teacher schools in the state, which is a significant step towards improving the education system. This will undoubtedly improve the education system in those schools and benefit the students with quality education.

Due to the shortage of teachers in some districts of Bastar and Surguja divisions, approximately 1208 schools remain single-teacher schools. In the near future, the shortage of teachers in schools will be met through the promotion of headmasters and lecturers and the direct recruitment of approximately 5000 teachers, so that no school will remain single-teacher and the shortage of teachers will also be met in other schools where there is a shortage.

The process of rationalization has been done under the provisions contained in the Right to Education Act-2009 and the National Education Policy-2020. The setup of 2008 is no longer relevant at the primary and upper primary level. Disciplinary action has been taken against such officers and employees who were found involved in any kind of irregularities.
