A significant step has been taken to boost Chhattisgarh’s infrastructure. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai met with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari, where several crucial road projects for the state were approved. The meeting saw directives issued to expedite the financial approval of ongoing projects in Chhattisgarh, valued at over 7000 crore rupees. Furthermore, 600 crore rupees were sanctioned under the Central Road Fund (CRF), paving the way for the construction and upgrade of numerous roads across Chhattisgarh. Plans include the construction of four major bridges to alleviate traffic congestion in Raipur, with the ground-breaking ceremony scheduled soon. Roads connecting Raipur to other districts will be converted from two lanes to four lanes, enhancing both traffic flow and safety. It was also decided that the ‘Gati Shakti Portal’ of the central government will be used in the planning of the state’s road schemes to facilitate quicker approvals. Shri Gadkari ordered the rapid preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a six-lane road spanning approximately 95 km between Raipur-Arang-Bilaspur-Darrri, which will connect industrial, agricultural, and educational areas. Additionally, the expansion of the Samriddhi Expressway will extend to Raipur.
