In a move aimed at promoting national unity and harmony, the Chhattisgarh Waqf Board has issued a directive mandating the hoisting of the Indian national flag, the Tiranga, at all mosques, dargahs (shrines), and madrasas (Islamic schools) across the state on the occasion of Independence Day, August 15th. The order requires that the flag be displayed prominently at the main entrances of these religious institutions. The Waqf Board has communicated this directive to all mutawallis (caretakers) of these establishments, urging them to ensure the respectful hoisting of the national flag and the conduct of the national anthem. Dr. Saleem Raj, the Chairman of the Waqf Board, stated that this decision was made to reinforce the message of national unity, goodwill, and brotherhood.
