    Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently met with officials in New Delhi to commend their crucial roles in recent anti-Naxal operations. He congratulated them on the historic success of these operations, emphasizing the Modi government’s commitment to freeing India from the scourge of Naxalism. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma were present at the event.

    In a post on X, the Home Minister acknowledged the officers’ contributions, expressing his eagerness to meet the brave jawans who ensured the success of the operations and pledged to visit Chhattisgarh soon. Notably, anti-Maoist operations are being conducted in Chhattisgarh under the guidance of the Union Home and Cooperation Minister. One such operation, conducted by the Chhattisgarh Police (including DRG forces from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur districts) in the interior regions of Abujmarh from May 18 to May 21, 2025, resulted in an encounter on May 21, 2025, in the forests of village Boter, where 27 Naxals, including Basavaraju alias Gaganna, the General Secretary and Politburo member of CPI (Maoist), were killed, and a large quantity of weapons and ammunition were recovered.

    Chhattisgarh’s Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General of Police (Anti-Naxal Operations/SIB/STF) Vivekanand, Inspector General of Police of Bastar Range Sundarraj, Superintendent of Police of Narayanpur Prabhat Kumar, Superintendent of Police of Bijapur Jitendra Yadav, and Superintendent of Police of Naxal-free district Bastar Shalabh Singh were honored by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka, and several other senior officers were also present.
