    In a recent event held in New Delhi, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah congratulated officials for their pivotal roles in the successful anti-Naxal operations. The Home Minister acknowledged the historical significance of these operations and expressed the Modi government’s commitment to freeing India from the scourge of Naxalism. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma were present at the ceremony.

    Shah, in a post on X, highlighted the contributions of the officers and expressed his eagerness to meet the soldiers who ensured the success of these operations, planning a visit to Chhattisgarh soon. Under the direction of the Home Minister, security forces in Chhattisgarh have been conducting anti-Maoist operations. An operation conducted by the Chhattisgarh Police, including DRG forces from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur districts, resulted in a significant encounter on May 21, 2025, in the forests of village Boter. The encounter led to the death of 27 Naxals, including Basavaraju alias Gagganna, the General Secretary and Politburo member of the CPI (Maoist), along with the recovery of substantial arms and ammunition.

    Chhattisgarh’s Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General of Police (Anti-Naxal Operations/SIB/STF) Vivekanand, Inspector General of Police, Bastar Range, Sundarraj, Superintendent of Police of Narayanpur Prabhat Kumar, Superintendent of Police of Bijapur Jitendra Yadav, and Superintendent of Police of Naxal-Free District Bastar Shalabh Singh were honored by Amit Shah. Also present were Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka, and several other senior officials.
