The Chhattisgarh Transport Department has issued an advisory urging citizens to make all e-challan payments related to their vehicles exclusively through the department’s official website. This announcement follows reports of fraudulent activities where vehicle owners have received deceptive messages or emails requesting payment of challan amounts. The department emphasizes that payments should not be made via any unauthorized websites, links, or apps. To verify the authenticity of a challan, vehicle owners are instructed to visit the departmental portal and select the “Pay Online” option. By entering their vehicle number and the last four digits of either their chassis or engine number, they can access a detailed description of the challan. Secure online payment can then be processed. The department reiterates that all e-challans issued by the police and transport department are available only on the official portal. Individuals should not trust any suspicious calls, messages, or links, and any suspicion of fraud should be immediately reported to the nearest police station or the transport department.
