Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai paid tribute to former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, during a wreath-laying ceremony at the Avanti Vihar Chowk in Raipur. Sai emphasized that the very name “Chhattisgarh” is a legacy of Atal Ji, recognizing him as the architect of the state. He underscored the significance of Vajpayee’s contributions as a multifaceted personality, a journalist, poet, and statesman, whose speeches captivated audiences. Sai highlighted the commencement of the 25-week long silver jubilee celebrations of Chhattisgarh’s formation, attributing the state’s progress to Vajpayee’s vision. The year also marks Vajpayee’s birth centenary, with the government designating it as the Atal Nirman Varsh, accompanied by a special budget for infrastructural development. Sai recalled Vajpayee’s role in shaping Chhattisgarh’s development and the state’s commitment to achieving its goals, including the Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision-2047 roadmap for future development. Sai shared personal anecdotes, including his time as a Member of Parliament during Vajpayee’s tenure as Prime Minister, and spoke of his admiration for Vajpayee’s parliamentary addresses.
