Preparations are underway to celebrate Independence Day across the state with dignity and grandeur. A state-level coordination meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Additional Chief Secretary, Chhattisgarh Government. The Additional Chief Secretary directed all concerned departments to organize the Independence Day celebrations in a dignified, well-organized manner, filled with national spirit, as done every year.

The main function in Raipur will be held at the Police Parade Ground, starting at 9 AM. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will hoist the national flag and address the public. A guard of honor will be presented to the Chief Minister during the ceremony by a joint parade.

The Inspector General of Police, Chhattisgarh Armed Forces, will be in charge of the parade. The parade will include contingents from BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, Chhattisgarh Armed Forces (women and men), Home Guard, NCC cadets, etc. Medals and awards will be distributed by various departments on Independence Day. Departments must form juries and send the list of selected names to the General Administration Department by July 29, 2025. Proposals received after the specified date will not be considered.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will deliver a message to the public during the main ceremony. This message will be broadcast throughout the state through Doordarshan and All India Radio. After the main ceremony, students will perform patriotic group dances and songs. The School Education Department will form a jury for the school children’s programs, and awards will be distributed at the venue. The Collector, Superintendent of Police, and Municipal Commissioner of Raipur have been assigned several important responsibilities related to the Independence Day main ceremony arrangements.

Lighting arrangements will be ensured on all public buildings and national monuments on the night of August 15. Private institutions have also been appealed to hoist the flag and arrange for lighting. Collectors have been directed to organize programs and exhibitions at the district, block, and panchayat levels. Freedom fighters and the families of soldiers martyred in Naxal violence will be respectfully invited to the ceremony.
