Following the tragic drowning of a young woman from Raipur at Gajpalla Waterfall, authorities have imposed a complete ban on entry to both Chingrapgar and Gajpalla waterfalls. The 19-year-old victim, identified as Mehvish Khan, had reportedly slipped and fallen into the depths of the waterfall while visiting with friends. The incident, which occurred on a Monday, prompted an immediate response from local officials. An exhaustive search and rescue operation was launched, involving over 60 personnel from various departments including the forest department, police, and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). The body of the deceased was recovered from approximately 20 feet deep, trapped within a narrow tunnel between rocks. Forest officials have closed all access points and stationed personnel to enforce the ban until further notice. Warning boards have been erected at the entry points to alert visitors.
