Chhattisgarh’s police personnel received a glowing tribute today as Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai released the Silver Jubilee Medal at Naya Raipur’s Police HQ. This honorific marks 25 years of relentless service in upholding peace and combating threats, with Sai praising the force’s ‘indomitable spirit and sacrifices.’ Originally declared on Republic Day, the medal’s unveiling underscores the administration’s efficiency.

Reflecting on two-and-a-half decades, Sai highlighted the police’s ironclad maintenance of law and order, particularly their heroic stands in Naxal confrontations. ‘Their supreme sacrifices have shaped our secure present,’ he noted, positioning the medal as an enduring testament to such heroism.

Crafted in silver with a round design, the medal integrates state pride: the Sal tree adorns the obverse, symbolizing enduring strength, while the Hill Myna on the reverse evokes alertness and unity. Attached via ribbon, it ranks post-prestigious national honors on uniforms.

These emblems carry profound meaning. The Myna bird epitomizes the police’s watchful eyes, bold communication, local roots, and collective resolve. Meanwhile, the Sal tree—venerated in tribal heartlands like Bastar and Surguja—conveys fortitude, environmental stewardship, and impactful quietude. The medal thus immortalizes the force’s loyalty, public service, and tradition of excellence.

Dignitaries including Deputy CM Vijay Sharma, top bureaucrats like Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel and Principal Secretary Subodh Kumar Singh, alongside DGP Arun Dev Gautam and ADGPs such as Pawan Dev, Kalluri, Gupta, Sinha, Kabra, and Kumar, graced the occasion. As Chhattisgarh strides forward, this accolade reinforces the police’s role as guardians of harmony.
