    Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai visited Mainpat in Surguja district and inaugurated a new statue of Lord Buddha. The Chhattisgarh government announced development projects worth 30 lakh rupees, including the construction of a CC road and a temple shed. The Chief Minister highlighted the deep roots of Buddhist traditions in Chhattisgarh and stated that the state government is progressing on the path of development, embracing the messages of love, peace, and compassion of Lord Buddha. During the inauguration ceremony at the hotel ground complex in Mainpat, CM Sai paid respects to the Buddha statue and wished for the well-being, prosperity, and peace of the people of the state. He also expressed gratitude to the Tibetan community for the invitation. He noted that many sites in Chhattisgarh are dedicated to the worship of Lord Buddha, citing the example of Sirpur, where Buddhist, Jain, and Sanatan traditions coexist, reflecting the state’s inclusive culture. He mentioned the global impact of Lord Buddha’s teachings, as evidenced by the greetings extended to the Dalai Lama by leaders worldwide, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Chief Minister emphasized Mainpat’s natural beauty and cultural diversity, recognizing its potential for tourism, and announced the government’s commitment to its development. He also mentioned the provision of special incentives for those starting homestay facilities in areas like Mainpat under the new industrial policy. Furthermore, CM Sai announced the allocation of 10 lakh rupees for the construction of a CC road from Sela Resort to the Buddhist temple and 20 lakh rupees for the construction of a shed at the ancient Buddhist temple, based on the request of the Tibetan Cooperative Society. A tree planting initiative was also undertaken. The event featured a warm welcome for the Chief Minister in accordance with traditional Tibetan customs. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm as people carrying the national flag greeted the Chief Minister.
