In a heartwarming display of humanity, CRPF jawans participated in a wedding in Puvarti, a village in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh, once a stronghold of Naxal activities. The soldiers, stationed for security, stepped in to fulfill the role of brothers to the bride, offering gifts and joining the villagers in the wedding festivities. Puvarti is known as the home village of Hidma, a notorious Naxal commander. During the bride’s farewell, villagers brought her to the CRPF camp so she could meet the soldiers who were protecting them. The CRPF officers and jawans gave their blessings to the bride, gifted her, and celebrated the wedding with dancing and singing alongside the villagers. This event symbolizes peace, trust, and change in an area that has long suffered under the shadow of Naxalism. These instances of trust-building are emerging as a result of the peace and development efforts by the central and state governments. The wedding in Puvarti was not merely a social event but a historic moment that laid the foundation of trust in place of hatred.
