    Chief Minister Sai reviewed in detail the work being done for the all-round development of Other Backward Class areas. Instructions were given to complete the approved development works within the stipulated time. Raipur, February 6, 2026 / The first meeting of the Chhattisgarh State Rural and Other Backward Class Area Development Authority was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai in the Public Works Department auditorium at the district headquarters Durg. In the meeting, a detailed review was conducted of the major development works approved under the authority, works under construction from the authority fund, the budget provided, and newly approved works. Suggestions presented by public representatives were discussed in detail during the meeting. The main objective of the meeting was to assess the progress of schemes being run for the social, economic, and educational upliftment of the backward class community of the state and to determine future development strategies, so that the benefits of development can effectively reach the actual beneficiaries. Chief Minister Mr. Sai, while reviewing various construction works and public welfare schemes being run under the authority, gave clear instructions to ensure timely and full utilization of the approved budget. He said that the benefits of development works should directly reach the common people and continuous monitoring at all levels is necessary for this. Chief Minister Mr. Sai, while directing all District Collectors, said that better operation of all approved development works, services, and programs within the district should be ensured. He gave special instructions that all approved construction works should be completed immediately, prioritizing the interests of Other Backward Class areas. In the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed the construction and development works approved under the Chhattisgarh State Rural and Other Backward Class Area Development Authority from the financial year 2020-21 to the financial year 2024-25, district-wise. During this, he took information about the progress status and gave necessary guidelines. During the review, the Chief Minister instructed to identify development works that are either not yet started or are in progress, and complete them within a two-month deadline. He obtained information about the current status of works by directly communicating with the District Collectors and emphasized ensuring completion within the timeline. It is noteworthy that the main objective of the Chhattisgarh State Rural and Other Backward Class Area Development Authority is to ensure the active participation of local public representatives in the process of rural development. Under this, provision has been made for the formulation of short-term plans in consultation with regional leadership, expansion of basic facilities, and quick approval of small construction works according to public expectations. The authority covers 35 assembly constituencies of the state. Special attention is being given to the development of basic civic amenities, promotion of social and cultural activities, expansion of educational facilities, and health services in these areas. Emphasis has also been placed on the development of education and hostels, and the meeting also discussed improving the quality of education for students from Other Backward Classes. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Arun Sao, Health Minister Mr. Shyambihari Jaiswal, Revenue Minister Mr. Tankram Verma, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Lakshmi Rajwade, Scheduled Caste Development Minister Mr. Guru Khushwant Saheb, School Education Minister Mr. Gajendra Yadav, Member of Parliament Mr. Brijmohan Agarwal, Vice Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Rural and Other Backward Class Area Development Authority Mr. Lalit Chandrakar, along with other MLAs and public representatives, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary Mr. Basavaraju S, Secretaries of various government departments, IG, Commissioner, Collectors, and other senior officials.
