A massive influx of devotees marked the first Monday of the holy Sawan month at the self-manifested Shivalinga, Bhuteshwarnath Dham. Pilgrims from far and wide, including Kanwariyas and families, were seen engaged in the act of offering water and performing prayers since the morning. Local priests suggest the Shivalinga is ‘swayambhu’ (self-originated) and continues to grow in size annually, currently standing at approximately 80 feet high with a circumference of 210 feet, symbolizing the unwavering faith of the devotees. Amidst light rain, chants of “Har Har Mahadev” and “Bol Bam” resonated as devotees performed Rudrabhishek with Gangajal. Many Kanwariyas, following decades-old traditions, arrived on foot carrying Kanwars on their heads, offering prayers at the feet of Lord Shiva. The Bhuteshwarnath Yuva Bhandara Committee provided free prasad and first-aid to nearly 10,000 devotees on this Sawan Monday. Devotees believe that prayers offered with a sincere heart at Bhuteshwarnath are always answered, with many families performing special prayers for health, prosperity, and peace.
